There must be something in the beer. I've reviewed 3 movies this week alone, that deal with Necrophilia in some way. Not that I'm some freak who gets off on cold unmoving women, but if I wanted that, I would call my ex. I guess now that there are tons of "shocking" movies out there, why not take a whirl at something that is still a big taboo. Necrophilia. I can think of at least 7 people in the business that expressed interest in making a film about Necrophilia, but decided not to at the last minute due to the "graphic nature". To those people I say "eat it". It's just a movie, don't be a total wimp about it.
Dead Girl is a story about 2 high school kids who venture into an old abandoned mental institute, and find an undead girl in the basement. Deciding on impulse, one of the kids encourages that leaving her tied to a mattress for sexual pleasure is a good thing. Of course going back to the bore of HS seems moot compared to doing anything you want to woman without her dying. With that comes some nasty side effects, but I won't give anything away by telling them;)
I really enjoyed this movie for many reasons. One of them was the fact that this wasn't some cash in for the Torture Porn scene going around. I also liked the feel of the movie. It was a little slower paced in spots, but it wasn't enough and too often to really affect my judgment on the movie. It's nice to see films like this that take a second to think about the script despite outside opinions, and stick to the plan.
If you can stomach the idea of kids selling an undead woman to fellow high school classmates for sex, then you gotta see this movie. It doesn't have the same in your face grab as Aftermath or the disgusting heartbreak as Necromantik, but Dead Girl holds it's own weight. Another mention is that if you want to see this movie in it's original state, get the unrated copy. The edited version is cheap and leaves you feeling cheated.

Hanger ( 2009 ) Netflix Review

This one stuck me. When I began the film, it was clear that Hanger was a lower financed Horror Film. The grainy picture, chucked up sound, and cheesy FX made me staple a solid 2 star rating. Not to be bias, I decided to skip the early detractors and see it for what it was. Fuck Me, it was awesome. If you have watched a Troma film, you will have no problem with Hanger. What separate it from a Trroma film is this: With a bigger budget, Hanger could have almost been banned.
Seeing Gutterballs and Hanger have now made me an official Ryan Nicholson fan. This guy is now in the same league as J. Micheal Muro, Frank Henenlotter & Jorg Buttgereit. These guys released some really good movies but were kinda held back to the general public. People may argue that statement, but ask anybody about Frankenhooker, Street Trash, or Nekromantik and see what the typical response will be. Ask the same public about Terminator 2 and see what they say to that movie> with that said you have to be warned that Hanger does get graphic.
Hanger is a very shocking and downright disturbing film. Anal Rape, Masterbating with Pez dispensers, and forced coat hanger abortions are just a taste of what you will see. I swear, at times this flick had me either getting warm or shaking my head in disgusted laughter. If you have watched the films listed above and liked them, then I would highly suggest you give this one a decent chance.
Hanger is a nasty little story about a prostitue who becomes pregnant and is forced to have an abortion> Actually, her abusive pimp coat hangers the child out and throws it away. The child is found by a bum and saved. 18 years later we see the young man being thrown out of the "house" and left to fend for himself. Upon the eviction Hanger meets up with one of his moms ex johns who gives Hanger shelter with a gross roommate and a job. From there on out it's a "top this" of gross moments and some them were almost blatant porn. A strong stomach and tough sense of humor are a must.
The only thing that really lacked was the Film was camera quality and sound.. Like I said before, this would've been a much higher rating for the content, but the grainy film and bad sound killed it for me at times. Other than that, a solid picture from a future legend.

Uwe Boll, you finally shut the masses up. Despite the other Horrible movies by Uwe ( Alone In The Dark, House Of The Dead, & Bloodrayne to name a few) There were some decent ones that got overlooked just because of the name attached to the directors chair. Postal & Seed are prime examples of how Uwe can just say Fuck It, and let the film speak for itself. Rampage is another example of that with it's story, amount of violence, and humor needed to sell the whole film.
Rampage is the story of Bill Williamson and his thirst for revenge against almost anything he comes into contact with. While mom and dad try to convince him to leave the house and move into a place of his own Bill just smiles and acts like things are OK. About the only thing that seemed to piss him off was the guy at the Mocha joint who chinced him on extra foam. Even when bill's buddy Evan flips out on a ditzy worker at a burger joint, Bill just seems to smile and pass it off. Or so it seemed.
Without anybody knowing Bill constructs himself a body suit out of an armor plating, heads into town, and proceeds to gun down, blow up, and all but destroy anything that gets into his way. Rampage at times gave me a light chill because of the similarities of the rash of School Shootings in the late 90's and early 2000's. A gunman premeditating his strike and carrying out with eerie precision while chaos ensues is a very real threat, and was displayed with an unflinching self in Rampage.
All of the violence was nothing compared to the bingo parlor scene. I don't know what was more funny: The fact that a vengeful guy in armor plating was mowing down people at will outside, but once he steps into the bingo parlor nobody seems to care that he's there, or even takes notice long enough to look up. I guess the cards were more important than a madman decked to the nines with guns and armor.
Overall I think Rampage will go down as one of Uwe's better outings, and I hope he can sustain this level of filmmaking for a bit instead of putting out the those awful video game adaptations.

Lady Death ( 2004 ) Netflix Review

Unless you are a hard core Anime fan, you might want to skip this one. I used to read the Lady Death & Evil Ernie Comics back in High School. and always hoped for a day when the pages were brought to life on the screen. Sadly, this was not the best effort, and left a bitter taste in my mouth. I guess Lady Death would have fared better now and 7 years later, but 2004 was right in the thick of the Anime craze and this felt totally rushed and choppy.
The story of Lady Death has the potential to get an audience otherwise not familiar with her. A Swedish girl in the 15th century is burned at the stake for being a witch. While roasting alive she is more or less forced to recite a chant that sends her to hell. Once there, she confronts her father the devil, and promptly rejects anything he has to offer. Not one to be rejected Lucifer casts his daughter into the pits of hell to think over her position a bit more.
It is there that LD runs into Cremator who shares the hate for Lucifer and will train LD to harness her powers in order to wage the ultimate fight with her dad. We the viewers are then strapped in for a plodding story and dull delivery. The blood and gore were nothing too graphic, and considering that LD and Cremator ARE in hell, you would expect more messed up thiungs to come along their way. Not the case at all. It felt like I was watching an adult version of an after school cartoon.
not everything was bad though. The 13 year old in me STILL to this date couldn't stop staring at Lady's massive boobs and firm badonkadonk. Yeah childish, but c'mon man, she's stacked and has no problem looking the part. Lady's figure and almost lack of clothes reminded me of the Heavy Metal character Taarna, but unlike Lady Death Taarna gave us quite a show at the in the bath at the temple. The most we see from Miss death is some funky lingerie, and nothing in the way of seductive at all.
Oh well. Maybe if the creators of the semi snooze fest did a little research and time into it, this could've been a higher ranked movie.
