I've been a big fan of Turok Dinosaur Hunter for a long time now. I grew up on the comics. I've played a few of the video game versions of this franchise but never really liked them. That has changed. This version has a good story, great voice actors, good graphics. Enjoyable game-play. It's easy to control your character and the game isn't too simple or too hard to get through. Lots of cool weapons to choose from. You can load up with the big firepower or you can sneak up and cut someone's throat. Lots of dinosaurs. If your not careful they will get you, but you can also lure them in to attack your enemies. The coolest part of the game is the on-line function. Lots of maps and several game styles to choose from. You can play with up to 16 people at once. It's like Halo with dinosaurs thrown in the mix. Also, you can purchase more maps through X-Box live for only 400 Microsoft points.

Comic Book The Movie - DVD - Angled Doors Review
This is a mockumentary about a comic book that is being turned into a movie. Mark Hamill stars and directs. It's a fun little indie film that takes a look at the comic book culture and takes place at a comic-con. There are lots of cool cameos and interviews by the likes of Hugh Hefner, Stan Lee, Kevin Smith, Bruce Campbell and many more. There are a lot of very cool bonus features to check out too... "Behind The Voices" featurette that has a lot of the people who do some of the coolest cartoon character voices. Extended interviews with Bruce Campbell and Kevin Smith. Deleted Scenes, Bloopers and more. Comic fans and cartoon fans should definitely check this out.

Lady Death ( 2004 ) Netflix Review

Unless you are a hard core Anime fan, you might want to skip this one. I used to read the Lady Death & Evil Ernie Comics back in High School. and always hoped for a day when the pages were brought to life on the screen. Sadly, this was not the best effort, and left a bitter taste in my mouth. I guess Lady Death would have fared better now and 7 years later, but 2004 was right in the thick of the Anime craze and this felt totally rushed and choppy.
The story of Lady Death has the potential to get an audience otherwise not familiar with her. A Swedish girl in the 15th century is burned at the stake for being a witch. While roasting alive she is more or less forced to recite a chant that sends her to hell. Once there, she confronts her father the devil, and promptly rejects anything he has to offer. Not one to be rejected Lucifer casts his daughter into the pits of hell to think over her position a bit more.
It is there that LD runs into Cremator who shares the hate for Lucifer and will train LD to harness her powers in order to wage the ultimate fight with her dad. We the viewers are then strapped in for a plodding story and dull delivery. The blood and gore were nothing too graphic, and considering that LD and Cremator ARE in hell, you would expect more messed up thiungs to come along their way. Not the case at all. It felt like I was watching an adult version of an after school cartoon.
not everything was bad though. The 13 year old in me STILL to this date couldn't stop staring at Lady's massive boobs and firm badonkadonk. Yeah childish, but c'mon man, she's stacked and has no problem looking the part. Lady's figure and almost lack of clothes reminded me of the Heavy Metal character Taarna, but unlike Lady Death Taarna gave us quite a show at the in the bath at the temple. The most we see from Miss death is some funky lingerie, and nothing in the way of seductive at all.
Oh well. Maybe if the creators of the semi snooze fest did a little research and time into it, this could've been a higher ranked movie.

In a memorable Fantastic Four comic (issue 285, to be precise) Johnny Storm nearly quits being the Human Torch after a young fan dies trying to emulate his fiery form. "Kick-Ass" is kind of the opposite of that story.
In place of guilt-ridden moralizing about the roles of heroes, "Kick-Ass," itself based on a more recent comic, instead offers up the taboo-busting shenanigans of Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comics geek who decides to become a crime-fighting vigilante. After getting his keister viciously beaten a few times, he becomes a YouTube sensation and draws the attention of Hit Girl (Chloë Moritz), a spunky 12-year-old who has been trained by her father (Nicolas Cage), who goes by Big Daddy, into a pint-sized death-dealing whirlwind. These two steal the show, with Moritz an emerging star and Cage continuing the renaissance he began with "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans."
The mixture of anarchic costumed fun and over-the-top bloody violence (exemplified when Hit Girl takes out a room of mobsters to the strains of the "Banana Splits" theme song) will be a real test for some audience members. If you're in on the joke, though, director Matthew Vaughn has provided an imperfect but still wickedly hilarious take on Mark Millar's deconstruction of superhero mythos.

OK some of you will hate this movie, while some of you will love it. First off if you like Ren and Stimpy and Heavy Metal, then this is for you. Now if you're a cartoon geek who can dictate and deliver lines from obscure Japanese 90's toons, then you will hate this. I guess it's one of those movies that fall right in the middle. Almost any movie that Rob Zombie deals with has the same outcome. Some Love it, and some hate it. Same with this. In my opinion it's just a raunchy cartoon that made me laugh, nothing more. I wasn't expecting anything less. Based on the comic book of the same name our story takes place in the world of Monsterland. El Superbeasto ( Pappa ) is an ex Luchador that is washed and past his time. Not that it matters though. Armed with his sexy sister Sidekick Suzi X ( Moon Zombie ) the two do battle with a sleazy character named Dr. Satan ( Giamatti ) who wants to rule monsterland with the help of Miss Velvet Von Black ( Dawson ). Yeah, nothing for real content, and a corny plot, but c'mon it's A Rob Zombie cartoon.....What the fuck did you expect? I liked it though. Once again it was nice to see somthing for Adults and not dumb kids. I only had a couple of gripes though. First, we have a reunion of sorts with Rob Zombie characters from other movies. Capt. Spaulding, Otis, and even Banjo & Sullivan show up, but Dr. Satan looks stupid and nothing like the HO1000C version. I would've loved to see that savage fucker brought to life via animation!!!! The second is the illustrations. There was a HUGE difference between the comic, and this animated version. Maybe they thought it would be too offsetting for some viewers. Like I said before, if you loved Ren & Stimpy, then put mass boobs, sex, and cussing into that mix and this is what you got. All in all though, it reminded me of a Juiced up Fritz The Cat.
