If you managed to miss the hype, Cloverfield is about a giant Godzilla sized monster coming to New York. What's different is how it is presented. It's given to us as footage found by the U.S. Dept. of Defense. Some guy was having a going away party, His friends were recording it to give him to watch while he's away. So what we have is that footage found by the army and packed into evidence. The movie is just the tape. Friends are filming at the party when the monster strikes and they decide to keep rolling throughout the night to document the entire event. The dvd is packed with the usual bonus features. "Making Of" documentary, deleted scenes, alternate endings and such.
